FULL CIRCLE – The Art of Becoming, a solo exhibition by artist Sonya Sanchez Arias that explores identity, ancestry, memory, and transformation through photography and mixed media. Rooted in Caribbean heritage and lived experience, the exhibition reflects on cycles of becoming—honoring the past while embracing the present.

The Opening Reception on March 7 will be a multisensory cultural celebration featuring Caribbean-inspired art, music, food, and drink. The evening will include the steelpan, the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago, whose origins date back to the 1930s and 1940s and whose sound carries deep cultural history.

Additional live music elements will include Tassa drumming, a high-energy Indo-Caribbean musical tradition from Trinidad & Tobago performed to welcome and honor guests, drive away negative energy, and create a joyful, celebratory atmosphere. Guests will also encounter Moko Jumbies, iconic stilt-walking figures rooted in West African and Caribbean traditions that symbolize spiritual protection, ancestral connection, and resilience through movement and dance.

Together, the artwork and performances create an immersive experience that bridges visual art, sound, movement, and heritage—inviting the community to gather, reflect, and celebrate culture, creativity, and becoming.

The exhibition remains on view through March 31, with gallery hours Wednesday–Saturday, 12–6 PM.
